History itself is the factor of which the human populace must stand to learn from to return knowledge of the present environment. As such, history must be cross examined to its full potential to garner what is truth from falsehood. Upon such examinations, it remains clear that the evolutionary standpoint of the advancement of life on Earth presents itself as the ideal choice versus its opponents of creationism and intelligent design. Evolution retains such evidence through the particular studies of biological structures, the extensive history that is the fossil record, and the medium’s sheer presence of natural selection. As compared organisms descend from the trivial origin species that are shared between them all, species retain similar traits according to their shared ancestor. Upon comparing the starting weeks of a human, fish, and bird, not only is the visual a collection of strikingly similar models, but the structures of gills and tails can be easily seen on all subjects, despite two animals within the accumulation distinctly lacking such major features in birth. Thus, these traits were inherited by the common ancestor, securing it as the founding layout to present day species through its survival and mass reproduction according to the environment. As such, the present environment itself can be utilized as a history book. The Welcome Table â€Å"The Welcome Table† written by Alice Walker is a story about faith and religion. This was a bittersweet story about an elderly woman finding Jesus. The theme of the story is having faith in your religion. Some of the literary elements of this short story that contribute to the theme include plot, point of view, conflict, and setting. This story provides an excellent example of theme because it provokes emotion and insight. The plot of this story begins when an elderly woman went into a church where only white people were allowed. Some of the white women provoked their husbands to throw the old woman out of the church. â€Å"It was the ladies who finally did what to them had to be done. Daring their burly indecisive†¦show more content†¦No, no, the husbands were quick to answer and even quicker to do their duty† (Walker, 1970). This example illustrates the time frame from which this story was written. The author also describes the weather as being not much above zero outside, so this story takes place during the cold winter months. Although people in recent years often mistake rap music as vulgar and ill-mannered, the hip hop community continues to provide a great way to channel emotion and soul into their music. I believe that it was important for the black community to promote hip hop music because it allows one to fully deliver their opinion while at the same time promote self worth. Particularly for the black community, I find it as a great way to inform the youth about the real world injustices their ancestors once lived in. By speaking up, they promoted social equality simply by having the guts to say what is on their mind. By understanding others point of view, maybe we all can comprehend others in different ethnic groups.
